Creating and Managing Course Preferences

In EduCtrl CRM, a Course Preference represents the program or course a student wishes to study.

Since admission to a specific university or program is not always guaranteed, students usually maintain multiple course, university, and country preferences as backup options.

Course Preference Details

Each course preference can include:

  • Country of Study
  • University
  • Course / Program
  • Intake
  • Priority Level

EduCtrl supports priority-based course planning where students can have:

  • One 1st Priority program
  • Multiple 2nd Priority programs
  • Multiple 3rd Priority programs

This helps counsellors and consultancies process applications based on the student’s preferred study options.

Adding Course Preferences

To add course preferences for a student:

  1. Open the Student Details page
  2. Navigate to the Course Preferences tab
  3. Click “Add New Program”

Adding Courses from Imported Course Data

If university and course data has been imported into the CRM, staff can search and select courses directly from the database.

Manually Adding Programs

If the required course is not available in the database, staff can use the “Manually Add a Program” option to enter the course details manually.

This flexibility allows organizations to manage both imported and custom course information.

Adding Preferences from Course Finder

Course preferences can also be added directly from the Course Finder module.

Staff can:

  1. Search for courses
  2. Click “Add to Student Course Preference” on a course card
  3. Select the student and intake
  4. Add the course to the student’s preference list

Student Self-Service Course Preferences

Students can also manage their own course preferences through the Student Panel.

From the student portal, students can:

  • Search available courses
  • Add courses to preferences
  • Manually add programs of their choice

Creating Applications from Course Preferences

Once the consultancy decides to proceed with admission processing for a selected course preference, staff can create an application directly from the course preference list.

To create an application:

  1. Click the “Create Application” button next to the selected course preference
  2. Select the Master Agent / Apply Through Agent
  3. Choose “DIRECT” if applying directly with the university or institution
  4. Assign the application to the responsible staff member

This workflow helps streamline the transition from student course planning to application processing.
