Personalizing Notification Preferences
Learn how to customize your in-app and email notifications in EduCtrl CRM to stay informed about updates that matter to you — including leads, students, applications, and tasks.
Prerequisites
- You must have a Staff or Admin login.
- Only Admins can configure system-wide default notification settings.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Settings > Notifications
You’ll see a list of event types that trigger notifications:
- New Lead assigned
- New Student registered
- University Application updates
- Document upload by student
- Assigned Follow-ups
- Student or agent replies to messages
- Application status updates
- Counselling scheduled
- For each notification type, you can configure:
- In-App Notification: Enable/Disable
- Email Notification: Enable/Disable
- Use the toggle switches next to each row to turn on/off the notification type for:
- Assigned Staff
- Manager
- Super Admin
- After making changes, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
How Notifications Work
- In-App Notifications appear in the bell icon on the top-right of the interface.
- Email Notifications are sent to your registered email address.
- Notifications are sent based on assignment — if you are the assigned staff for a lead or application, you’ll get notified when it changes.
Tips & Best Practices
- Enable both in-app and email notifications for high-priority actions like Application Status Updates or New Lead Assignments.
- Managers and Super Admins can enable email alerts to track their team’s progress more efficiently.
- Regularly review your notification settings to ensure you're not missing critical updates.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: I'm not receiving email notifications. What should I check?
A: Make sure:
- Email notifications are enabled in Settings > Notifications
- Your SMTP settings under Settings > Email SMTP Configuration are correctly set up.
Q: Can individual staff control their own notifications?
A: Notification preferences are mostly set at the admin level, but individual notification delivery depends on assignment (lead/student/application).
